Concrete in transition –
The architect Erling Viksjø and his artist collaborators.

Exhibition identity and graphics.

Erling Viksjø (1910–1971) was one of Norway’s most influential architects in the post-war period, well known for his concrete architecture and high-rise buildings. This exhibition examines his extensive collaboration with artists such as Carl Nesjar, Pablo Picasso, Hannah Ryggen, Inger Sitter, Synnøve Anker Aurdal, Kai Fjell, Tore Haaland, Ramon Isern, Odd Tandberg and Jakob Weidemann.

The visual identity and color scheme of the exhibition is inspired by the aesthetic and forms found in Conglo concrete—a casting technique developed by Erling Viksjø in collaboration with his colleague Odd Tandberg. This technique was used as a decorative element in several of Viksjø’s most significant architectural works. By incorporating natural elements and an organic expression, it contributed to a softer, more nuanced modernist aesthetic and reflected Viksjø's artistic vision and dedication to merging art with architecture.
