Palazzo Comunale
Visual identity and signage
Palazzo Comunale means town hall and is a restaurant and bakery in Oslo that serves food from the Monsù kitchen. The term Monsù comes from the French word Monsieur, which was the nickname given to the French chefs who worked for aristocrats in the region. They brought with them French techniques and ingredients, which were then blended with local Sicilian traditions.
The visual identity, color palette, and illustrations are based on motifs found in the restaurant’s hand-painted floor tiles. All signage and illustrations are drawn and painted by hand to maintain a consistent sense of craftsmanship, tradition, and tactility.
